Ingredients/Components
- sugar - 1/4 c
- cinnamon - 1/2 tsp
- salt - 1/2 tsp
- water - 1/2 c
- vinegar - 1/3 c
- ground cloves - 1/4 tsp
- sliced, cooked beets can be canned beets - 2 c
- sliced medium onion optional, but adds to flavor - 1 item
How to make pickled beets:
Combine water, vinegar, sugar, cinnamon, salt and cloves. Heat to boiling. Add beets and onion. Cover pan and simmer for 5 minutes. Chill. Makes 1 pint.Recipe categories: Appetizers, Condiments, etc., Salads.
