  • quarts green or yellow wax beans - 4 item
  • cider vinegar - 6 c
  • brown sugar - 1 c
  • salt - 1 tsp
  • pepper - 1/2 tsp
  • allspice - 1 tsp
  • stick cinnamon - 1 item
  • whole cloves - 1 Tbsp

How to make pickled beans:

Cook beans in boiling, salted water until tender, using 1 teaspoon coarse-medium salt to each quart of water. Drain. Pack hot in sterilized jars. Combine remaining ingredients; heat to a boil. Pour over beans. Seal in hot, sterilized jars. Makes 8 pints.
