Ingredients/Components
- cup sugar - 1 item
- cup shortening - 1/2 item
- egg - 1 item
- cup persimmon pulp - 1 item
- cup chopped nuts - 1 item
- cup raisins if wanted - 1 item
- cups flour - 2 item
- teaspoon soda - 1 item
- teaspoon baking powder - 1 item
- teaspoon salt - 1/4 item
- teaspoon cloves; cinnamon and nutmeg - 1/2 item
How to make persimmon cookies:
Oven set at 350. Bake 15 Minutes. Beat sugar and shortening until fluffy. (This is important! Don't quit too soon!) Add egg and continue stirring. With flour in a separate bowl, mix with soda, baking powder, salt, cloves, cinnamon and nutmeg. Add mashed persimmon pulp. Add the flour blend. Stir in the nuts and raisins. Measure by tablespoons on a greased sheet and bake for fifteen minutes.
