Pepper steak
Ingredients/Components
- salt - 1 tsp
- cornstarch - 2 Tbsp
- oil - 2 Tbsp
- hot water - 1 c
- pepper - 1/4 Tbsp
- soy sauce - 2 Tbsp
- onion, sliced - 1 item
- round steak - 1 lb
- large green pepper, cut in strips - 1 item
- cooked hot rice - 1 item
How to make pepper steak:
Cut steak in narrow strips, brown slowly in oil about 15 minutes. Add onion slices (separated in rings). Season with salt and pepper. Stir and cook 5 more minutes. Add hot water. Cover and simmer until meat is almost done; about 30 minutes. Add green pepper strips and cook 10 more minutes. Uncover. Add mixture of cornstarch, water and soy sauce, stirring together. Bring to a boil stirring constantly for 5 minutes or until thickened. Serve over rice.Recipe categories: Main dish, Meat, Beef.
