Peking chicken
Ingredients/Components
- sugar - 3 Tbsp
- cornstarch - 1/4 c
- soy sauce - 2 Tbsp
- sesame oil
- white vinegar - 2 Tbsp
- powdered mustard - 1 Tbsp
- egg whites, beaten - 3 item
- soy or vegetable oil - 1/2 c
- chicken breasts, boned and sliced in strips - 2 item
How to make peking chicken:
Sauce:2 Tbsp. sesame oil3 Tbsp. sugar2 Tbsp. white vinegar2 Tbsp. soy sauce1 Tbsp. powdered mustard Warm oil in skillet or wok. Slice chicken into strips; coat with cornstarch. Dip into the egg whites. Saute chicken until brown and crispy.Sauce: Combine sesame oil, sugar, vinegar, soy sauce and mustard in a bowl. Blend thoroughly. Drain oil from skillet. Replace chicken; add sauce. Cook for 5 minutes on low heat. Serve over Chinese noodles or rice. Serves 4.
