Ingredients/Components
- eggs - 3 item
- vanilla - 1 tsp
- chopped pecans - 1 2
- egg - 1 item
- brown sugar, packed - 1/2 c
- melted butter or margarine - 1/2 c
- box yellow cake mix - 1 item
- white corn syrup
How to make pecan pie cake:
Mix cake mix, 1 egg and melted butter well. Reserve 2/3 cup of this batter. Spread the rest into a greased and floured 9 x 13-inch pan. Bake at 325° for 15 minutes or until lightly browned.Mix reserved 2/3 cup of batter with syrup, 3 eggs, brown sugar, vanilla and pecans. Pour this filling on top of crust. Bake about 45 to 50 minutes at 325°.
This cake tastes exactly like pecan pie. It is very rich and freezes well.
