Pecan pie bars
Ingredients/Components
- vanilla - 1 tsp
- chopped pecans - 1 c
- pkg - 6 oz
- egg - 1 item
- unsifted flour - 2 c
- powdered sugar - 1/2 c
- can sweetened condensed milk - 14 oz
- cold margarine or butter - 1 c
How to make pecan pie bars:
Preheat oven to 350° (325° for glass dish). In a medium bowl, combine flour and sugar; cut in butter until crumbly (easily done in a food processor). Press firmly in ungreased 9 x 12-inch pan. Bake at 350° for 15 minutes.Meanwhile, in a medium bowl, beat sweetened condensed milk, egg and vanilla. Stir in chips and pecans. Spread evenly over crust. Bake 25 minutes or until golden. Cool; cut and store, covered, in refrigerator.
Variation: Omit brickle chips; increase pecans to 2 cups or use half chocolate chips/half brickle chips and 1 1/2 cups pecans.
