Ingredients/Components

  • sticks butter, softened - 2 item
  • packed light brown sugar - 3/4 c
  • white sugar - 3/4 c
  • egg - 1 item
  • almond extract - 1 tsp
  • vanilla - 1 tsp
  • flour
  • baking soda - 1 tsp
  • baking powder - 1 tsp
  • salt - 2 tsp
  • chopped pecans - 2 c

How to make pecan cookies:

With electric mixer, cream butter and sugars. Beat in egg and extracts. Sift together the flour, soda, baking powder and salt. Gradually add to mixture. Stir in pecans. Roll into 1-inch balls. Place on ungreased cookie sheet and bake at 350° for 9 to 11 minutes or until set. Cool for 3 minutes on cookie sheet before removing to rack. Makes about 6 dozen.
