Peach cobbler
Ingredients/Components
- sugar - 2 Tbsp
- milk - 1/4 c
- salt - 1/4 tsp
- flour - 1 c
- brown sugar - 1/2 c
- cornstarch
- water - 1/2 c
- baking powder
- margarine - 1/4 c
- lemon juice - 1 Tbsp
- mace - 1/4 tsp
- slightly beaten egg - 1 item
- sliced peaches - 4 c
How to make peach cobbler:
Filling:1 1/2 Tbsp. cornstarch1/4 tsp. mace1/2 c. brown sugar1/2 c. water4 c. sliced peaches1 Tbsp. lemon juice1 Tbsp. margarine Mix flour, sugar, baking powder and salt. Cut in 1/4 cup margarine until crumbly. Combine milk and egg. Add all at once to dry ingredients, stirring just to moisten. Set aside.Prepare filling. Combine cornstarch, mace, brown sugar and water in a saucepan. Cook and stir until thickened. Add peaches, lemon juice and margarine. Cook until hot, about 5 minutes. Pour into a 8 1/4 x 1 3/4-inch round baking dish. Immediately spoon on Topper in 6 mounds. Bake 20 to 25 minutes at 400°. Serve with cream or ice cream. Makes 6 servings.
