Peach cobbler
Ingredients/Components
- sugar - 2 Tbsp
- milk - 1/4 c
- salt - 1/4 tsp
- brown sugar - 1/2 c
- butter - 1/4 c
- cornstarch
- water - 1/2 c
- baking powder - 1/2 tsp
- all-purpose flour - 1 c
- lemon juice - 1 Tbsp
- slightly beaten egg - 1 item
- sliced peaches - 4 c
- ground mace - 1/4 tsp
How to make peach cobbler:
For biscuit topper, sift together flour, sugar, baking powder and salt. Cut in butter until mixture resembles coarse crumbs. Combine milk and egg. Add all at once to dry ingredients, stirring just to moisten. Set aside.Combine cornstarch, mace, brown sugar and water in microwave bowl. Stir and cook about 2 minutes in microwave. Stir and cook 2 more minutes. Mixture should be thick. Add peaches, juice and butter. Cook about 3 or 4 more minutes. Spoon topper on peaches and bake in oven at 400° for 20 to 25 minutes. Serve with vanilla ice cream.
