How to make paprika shrimp:

Chop onion and slice mushrooms. In a large skillet, melt butter over moderately high heat. Add shrimp and saute until they turn pink, about 2 minutes. Transfer the shrimp to a bowl and set it aside.

Add oil to skillet and heat over moderate heat. Add the onion and saute until soft, about 5 minutes. Add the mushrooms. Cover and cook until wilted, about 4 minutes, stirring occasionally.

Stir in flour and paprika into the mushroom mixture until well mixed. Gradually stir in wine. Bring the mixture to a boil, stirring constantly, until the sauce thickens. Stir in the half and half until the mixture is hot, but not boiling.

Reduce heat to low. Stir in sour cream, pepper sauce and the sauteed shrimp. Cook, stirring gently, about 1 minute. Season with salt. Transfer the shrimp to a serving bowl. Garnish them with parsley and serve with rice, if desired.
