Ingredients/Components
- salt - 1/2 tsp
- water - 1 Tbsp
- egg - 1 item
- cornmeal - 1/2 c
- pepper - 1/4 tsp
- Pam - 1 item
- medium green tomatoes, sliced - 3 item
How to make oven fried green tomatoes:
Combine cornmeal, salt, pepper; set aside. Combine egg and water; beat well. Dip tomatoes in egg mixture and dredge in cornmeal mixture. Spray cookie sheet with Pam. Place tomatoes on sheet in single layer. Bake at 450° for 30 to 40 minutes. Turn once.Note: Eggplant, okra or squash may be substituted for the tomatoes.
