Orange coconut cake
Ingredients/Components
- box orange supreme cake mix - 1 item
- box orange gelatin - 1/2 item
- eggs - 2 item
- water - 1 c
- vegetable oil - 1/2 c
- sour cream - 8 oz
- fresh or frozen coconut - 6 oz
- sugar - 1 c
- juice and pulp from 1 orange
- Cool Whip - 8 oz
How to make orange coconut cake:
Preheat oven at 350°. Mix gelatin, cake mix, eggs, water and oil. Pour into 9-inch round cake pans that have been buttered and lightly floured. Bake at 350° for 30 to 35 minutes.Filling: Mix sour cream, coconut, sugar and juice and pulp from orange. Set aside 1 cup filling for icing. Put filling between cake layers that are cooled.
Icing: Mix together Cool Whip and 1 cup filling. Put icing on top and sides of cake. Refrigerate for 24 hours.
