Ingredients/Components

  • box orange supreme cake mix - 1 item
  • box orange gelatin - 1/2 item
  • eggs - 2 item
  • water - 1 c
  • vegetable oil - 1/2 c
  • sour cream - 8 oz
  • fresh or frozen coconut - 6 oz
  • sugar - 1 c
  • juice and pulp from 1 orange
  • Cool Whip - 8 oz

How to make orange coconut cake:

Preheat oven at 350°. Mix gelatin, cake mix, eggs, water and oil. Pour into 9-inch round cake pans that have been buttered and lightly floured. Bake at 350° for 30 to 35 minutes.

Filling: Mix sour cream, coconut, sugar and juice and pulp from orange. Set aside 1 cup filling for icing. Put filling between cake layers that are cooled.

Icing: Mix together Cool Whip and 1 cup filling. Put icing on top and sides of cake. Refrigerate for 24 hours.
