Orange-almond salad
Ingredients/Components
- sugar - 2 Tbsp
- salt - 1/4 tsp
- almond extract - 1/8 tsp
- toasted slivered almonds - 1/3 c
- salad oil - 1/4 c
- sliced green onions - 2 Tbsp
- thinly sliced celery - 1 c
- torn mixed greens - 6 c
- malt vinegar - 2 Tbsp
- medium oranges, peeled, sliced crosswise and halved - 3 item
How to make orange-almond salad:
In screw top jar, combine oil, sugar, vinegar, salt and almond extract. Cover and shake well to dissolve sugar and salt. Chill.At serving time, combine greens, oranges, celery and onions in a large bowl. Sprinkle with almonds. Pour dressing over and toss gently to coat. Serve at once. Yields 6 to 8 servings.
