Orange-almond salad
Ingredients/Components
- sugar - 2 Tbsp
- salt - 1/4 tsp
- almond extract - 1/4 tsp
- toasted slivered almonds - 1/3 c
- salad oil - 1/4 c
- sliced green onion - 2 Tbsp
- thinly sliced celery - 1 c
- torn mixed greens - 6 c
- malt vinegar - 2 Tbsp
- medium oranges, peeled, sliced crosswise and halved - 3 item
How to make orange-almond salad:
In screw-top jar, combine oil, sugar, salt and almond extract. Cover and shake well to dissolve sugar and salt. Chill. At serving time, in large salad bowl, combine salad greens, oranges, celery and onion. Sprinkle with almonds. Pour dressing over and toss gently to coat. Serve at once.
