Orange-almond salad
Ingredients/Components
- sugar - 2 Tbsp
- salt - 1/4 tsp
- almond extract - 1/8 tsp
- salad oil - 1/4 c
- sliced green onions - 2 Tbsp
- toasted, slivered almonds - 1/3 c
- torn greens - 6 c
- malt vinegar - 2 Tbsp
- thickly sliced celery - 1 c
- medium oranges, peeled, sliced crosswise and halved - 3 item
How to make orange-almond salad:
In a screw top jar, combine oil, sugar, vinegar, salt and almond extract. Cover and shake well to dissolve sugar and salt. Chill.At serving time in salad bowl, combine greens, oranges, celery and onions. Sprinkle with almonds. Pour dressing over and toss gently to coat. Serve at once. Makes 6 to 8 servings.
