Ingredients/Components
- milk - 1 c
- salt - 1/8 tsp
- all-purpose flour - 1 c
- Crisco shortening for deep frying - 1 item
- large Bermuda onions, peeled and cut in 1/4-inch slices - 2 item
How to make onion rings:
Separate onion slices into rings. Put them in a shallow dish. Pour the milk over them. Soak for 30 minutes turning twice. Mix flour and salt in a plastic bag. Add onion rings a few at a time to coat well. Heat Crisco to 325° in deep saucepan. Fry onion rings for 2 or 3 minutes. Drain on paper towels.
