Ingredients/Components
- finely crushed Ritz crackers - 1 c
- stick margarine, melted - 1/2 item
- yellow onions, thinly sliced - 2 c
- margarine - 2 Tbsp
- eggs - 2 item
- milk - 3/4 c
- salt - 3/4 tsp
- dash of pepper - 1 item
- grated sharp Cheddar cheese - 1/4 c
- paprika and parsley optional - 1 item
How to make onion pie:
Mix cracker crumbs with melted margarine. Press into 8-inch pie plate. Saute onions in 2 tablespoons margarine until clear, not brown. Spoon into crust. Beat eggs together with milk, salt and pepper; pour over onions. Sprinkle with cheese and paprika. Bake at 350° for 30 minutes or until knife inserted in center comes out clean.
