Oatmeal crisps
Ingredients/Components
- eggs - 2 item
- vanilla - 1 tsp
- granulated sugar - 1 c
- salt - 1 tsp
- brown sugar - 1 c
- soda - 1 tsp
- quick cooking oats - 3 c
- plain sifted flour
- shortening 1/2 butter for flavor - 1 c
How to make oatmeal crisps:
Mix together shortening and sugars. Add vanilla and eggs. Mix well, then add flour, salt and soda. Finally, add oats. Roll batter in two rolls, in wax paper, about 2 1/2-inches thick. Place on pan in freezer. Slice about 1/3-inch thick and bake as needed. Bake 10 to 13 minutes at 375°.Note: One-half cup of nuts and/or coconut may also be added to batter, if desired.
