flour
soda - 1 tsp
shortening - 1 c
granulated sugar - 1 c
brown sugar - 1 c
eggs, beaten - 2 item
vanilla - 1 tsp
quick oatmeal - 3 c
chopped nuts - 1/2 c
raisins - 1/2 c

How to make oatmeal cookies:

Sift flour. Measure; add soda and salt and sift again. Cream shortening, add sugar gradually and cream. Add eggs, vanilla, oatmeal, nuts and raisins. Mix. Add flour and stir well. Form 4 balls. Wrap in wax paper and refrigerate overnight; slice thin. Bake on greased sheet at 400° about 10 minutes.
