  • vanilla - 1 tsp
  • chopped pecans - 1 c
  • granulated sugar - 1 c
  • milk - 1 2
  • salt - 1/2 tsp
  • flour - 2 c
  • brown sugar - 1 c
  • coconut - 1 c
  • soda - 1 tsp
  • eggs, beaten - 2 item
  • baking powder - 1 tsp
  • shortening - 1 c
  • raisins - 1 c
  • quick oatmeal - 3 c

How to make christmas oatmeal cookies:

Cream shortening, add sugars and cream well. Add beaten eggs, vanilla and milk. Add flour sifted with soda, baking powder and salt. Add raisins, coconut and pecans; mix. Then add oatmeal last. Mixture will be thick. Drop on ungreased cookie sheets, flatten slightly and bake about 10 minutes in 350° oven. Makes about 7 dozen cookies.
