Ingredients/Components
- sugar - 1/4 c
- cinnamon - 1/2 tsp
- eggs - 2 item
- salt - 1/2 tsp
- flour
- brown sugar - 1 c
- evaporated milk - 1 c
- coconut - 1 c
- baking powder - 1 tsp
- boiling water
- shortening - 1/2 c
- chopped nuts optional - 1/2 c
- white sugar - 1 c
- oats - 1 c
- __ baking soda - 1 item
- Cream shortening, white sugar and brown sugar
How to make oatmeal cake:
Cook oats in boiling water; let set until cool. Cream shortening, white sugar and brown sugar. Add eggs and beat, then add oat mixture with flour, salt, baking soda, baking powder, cinnamon and chopped nuts (optional). Bake at 350° or until done.Topping:6 Tbsp. butter1/2 c. brown sugar1 c. coconut1/4 c. sugar1 c. evaporated milk Mix all ingredients and spread on top of cake.
