Ingredients/Components
- sugar - 1 c
- cinnamon - 1/2 tsp
- salt - 1/2 tsp
- chopped nuts - 1 c
- flour
- brown sugar - 1 c
- soda - 1 tsp
- flaked coconut - 2 c
- baking powder - 1 tsp
- boiling water - 1 c
- light cream - 1/4 c
- oleo - 1/2 c
- quick oats - 1 c
How to make oatmeal cake:
Topping:6 Tbsp. oleo1 c. brown sugar1 c. chopped nuts1/4 c. light cream2 c. flaked coconut Pour boiling water over oats and let stand. Cream oleo, sugar and brown sugar. Add eggs and beat well. Sift dry ingredients together, then add to creamed mixture along with oatmeal. Bake in 9 x 13-inch greased pan for 45 minutes at 350°.For topping: Mix ingredients together and spread on hot cake; place under broiler until bubbly. Watch carefully.
