Ingredients/Components
- cinnamon - 1/2 tsp
- eggs - 2 item
- vanilla - 1 tsp
- salt - 1/2 tsp
- brown sugar - 1 c
- coconut - 1 c
- soda - 1 tsp
- boiling water
- shortening - 1/2 c
- sifted flour
- nuts, chopped - 1 c
- white sugar - 1 c
- quick oatmeal - 1 c
- cream or evaporated milk - 1/4 c
- Cream the sugar, shortening and eggs
How to make oatmeal cake:
Pour boiling water over oatmeal and let stand. Cream the sugar, shortening and eggs. Add sifted dry ingredients alternately with oatmeal. Bake in a 9 x 13-inch greased pan at 350° for 40 minutes. Topping to be spread on hot cake and set under broilRecipe categories: Desserts, Cakes, Lunch/snacks.
