  • sugar - 1/2 c
  • cinnamon - 1 tsp
  • eggs - 2 item
  • vanilla - 1 tsp
  • salt - 1/2 tsp
  • chopped nuts - 1 c
  • flour
  • stick margarine - 1 item
  • brown sugar - 1 c
  • nutmeg - 1/2 tsp
  • coconut - 1 c
  • soda - 1 tsp
  • boiling water
  • white sugar - 1 c
  • quick cooking oats - 1 c
  • can milk - 1/4 c
  • Cover and let stand 20 minutes

How to make oatmeal cake:

Pour boiling water over oats with margarine. Cover and let stand 20 minutes. Add remaining ingredients. Stir gently all together; bake in loaf pan 35 minutes at 350°.Topping:1 stick margarine1/4 c. can milk1/2 c. sugar1 tsp. vanilla1 c. coconut1 c. chopped nuts Stir together and put on top of cake as it comes from the oven. Put under broiler and brown.
