Oatmeal cake
Ingredients/Components
- boiling water
- oatmeal - 1 c
- stick butter, melted - 1 item
- brown sugar - 1 c
- white sugar - 1 c
- eggs - 2 item
- vanilla - 1 tsp
- salt - 1/2 tsp
- cinnamon - 1 tsp
- flour
- soda - 1 tsp
- Let stand 20 minutes
- evaporated milk - 1/2 c
- melted butter - 4 Tbsp
- coconut, shredded - 1 c
How to make oatmeal cake:
Pour boiling water over oatmeal. Let stand 20 minutes. Cream the butter and sugars. Add remaining ingredients plus oatmeal. Bake in a 9 x 13-inch pan at 350° for 25 to 30 minutes.Icing:1 c. brown sugar1/2 c. evaporated milk4 Tbsp. melted butter1 c. coconut, shredded Mix together and put on cake as soon as done.
