  • cinnamon - 1 tsp
  • eggs - 2 item
  • vanilla - 1 tsp
  • chopped pecans
  • salt - 1/2 tsp
  • brown sugar - 1 c
  • egg yolks - 2 item
  • coconut - 1 c
  • soda - 1 tsp
  • baking powder - 1 tsp
  • boiling water
  • sifted flour
  • Crisco - 1/2 c
  • oatmeal - 1 c
  • white sugar - 1 c
  • Mix eggs, sugars and vanilla

How to make oatmeal cake:

Combine water, oatmeal and Crisco. Mix eggs, sugars and vanilla. Add to the oatmeal mixture. Mix the remaining ingredients by sifting. Add to the other mixture. Pour into a 9 x 13-inch pan, greased and floured. Bake at 350° for 45 minutes. Spread with the topping while still hot.Topping:1 stick butter1 c. coconut2 egg yolks1 c. brown sugar1 1/2 c. chopped pecans1/2 tsp. vanilla Mix in order. Spread over cake and broil until brown.
