  • salt - 1/2 tsp
  • flour
  • brown sugar - 1 c
  • butter - 1/2 c
  • coconut - 1 c
  • soda - 1 tsp
  • baking powder - 1 tsp
  • boiling water
  • nuts - 1/2 c
  • oatmeal - 1 c
  • white sugar - 1 c
  • Cool about 20 minutes

How to make oatmeal cake:

Make oatmeal. Cool about 20 minutes. Add remaining ingredients; beat until well blended. Bake in a 9 x 13-inch pan at 350° for 35 to 40 minutes.Topping:6 Tbsp. melted butter2/3 c. brown sugar1/4 c. milk1 c. coconut1/2 c. nuts1 tsp. vanilla Mix together. Spread over cake and brown in broiler.
