Ingredients/Components
- baking powder - 2 tsp
- brown sugar, firmly packed - 1/4 c
- honey - 1/4 c
- applesauce - 3 Tbsp
- skim milk - 1 c
- oat bran - 2 c
- oats - 1/2 c
- egg whites, slightly beaten - 2 item
How to make oat bran muffins:
Heat oven to 425°. Spray muffin tins lightly with Pam. Combine dry ingredients. Add milk, egg whites, honey and applesauce. Mix just until dry ingredients are moistened. Fill muffin tins. Bake 15 minutes or until golden brown. Makes 1 dozen.Variations: Add 1/4 cup raisins to batter. Add 1 chopped apple and 1 teaspoon cinnamon. Press 1 teaspoon fruit spread into centers before baking.
