Ingredients/Components
- sugar - 3/4 c
- margarine or butter - 1 c
- vanilla - 2 tsp
- rum extract - 2 tsp
- flour - 3 c
- nutmeg - 1 tsp
- egg - 1 item
- powdered sugar
- margarine - 3 Tbsp
- half and half or milk - 2 3
How to make nutmeg cookie logs:
Frosting:2 c. powdered sugar3 Tbsp. margarine3/4 tsp. rum extract1/4 tsp. vanilla2 to 3 Tbsp. half and half or milk nutmeg In a large bowl, mix margarine, vanilla, rum and egg until light and fluffy. Stir in flour and 1 teaspoon nutmeg. Cover and refrigerate for 30 to 45 minutes for easier handling. Heat oven to 350°. Divide dough into 6 portions. Shape each piece into long rolls 1/2-inch in diameter. Cut into 3-inch lengths; place on ungreased cookie sheets. Bake for 12 to 15 minutes. Immediately remove from pan; cool. Ice on top and around long sides of cookies. Mark frosting with tines of fork to simulate bark. Sprinkle lightly with nutmeg.Recipe categories: Desserts, Cookie and brownie, Hand Formed cookies.
