- brown sugar - 1 c
- nutmeg - 2 tsp
- soda - 1 tsp
- buttermilk - 1 c
- flaked coconut - 1/2 c
- baking powder - 1 tsp
- sifted flour - 2 c
- light cream - 1/4 c

How to make nutmeg cake:
Cream butter and sugar until fluffy. Add eggs, one at a time, beating well after each. Sift together flour, baking powder, soda, nutmeg and salt. Add to creamed mixture with buttermilk. Bake in greased and floured 9 x 13 baking dish at 375° for 25 minutes.Topping:6 Tbsp. butter1/4 c. light cream1 c. brown sugar1/2 c. flaked coconut Combine butter, light cream and brown sugar; bring to boil.
