  • salt - 1/2 tsp
  • flour - 3 c
  • water - 1/3 c
  • egg - 1 item
  • vinegar - 1 Tbsp
  • Crisco

How to make never fail pie crust:

For one 8-inch cream pie, use same ingredients except use only 2 egg whites and 4 tablespoons sugar.

Beat egg whites with vanilla and cream of tartar until soft peaks form. Gradually add sugar, beating until stiff and glossy peaks form and all sugar is dissolved. Spread meringue over hot filling, sealing to edge of pastry. Bake at 350° for 12 to 15 minutes or until meringue is golden. Cool. (Note: Before cutting a meringue-topped pie, dip knife in water, no need to dry.)
