Mushroom casserole
Ingredients/Components
- eggs - 2 item
- milk
- salt and pepper to taste - 1 item
- mayonnaise - 1/2 c
- fresh mushrooms - 1 lb
- slices buttered bread - 8 item
- can mushroom soup - 1 item
- each chopped celery, onion and green pepper - 1/2 c
How to make mushroom casserole:
Saute mushrooms in butter. Butter 3 slices bread and cut into squares. Put in large casserole. Combine onions, celery, peppers, mushrooms, mayonnaise, salt and pepper. Put over bread. Cut 3 more slices of buttered bread and put on top of vegetables. Pour beaten eggs and milk over this and refrigerate for 2 hours. Spoon mushroom soup on top and 2 more slices of buttered bread, cut into small cubes. Bake at 325° for 50 minutes.
