Ingredients/Components
- sugar - 2 c
- cinnamon - 1 item
- water - 2 c
- cream of tartar - 2 tsp
- oleo - 1 item
- Ritz crackers - 36 item
- pastry for 2 9-inch pies
- lemon juice and grated rind of the lemon - 2 Tbsp
How to make mock apple pie:
Break crackers coarsely into one pie shell. Combine water, sugar and cream of tartar in saucepan; boil 15 minutes. Add lemon juice and rind. Cool. Pour syrup over crackers, dot with oleo and sprinkle with cinnamon. Add top crust. Bake at 425° for 30 to 35 minutes. Serve warm.Recipe categories: Desserts, Pie, Pies and tarts.
