Ingredients/Components
- granulated sugar - 1/2 c
- packed brown sugar - 1/2 c
- milk - 1/3 c
- salt - 1/2 tsp
- baking powder - 1/2 tsp
- baking soda - 3/4 tsp
- egg - 1 item
- shortening - 1/2 c
- all-purpose flour
- margarine or butter, softened - 2/3 c
- Creamy Frosting recipe follows - 1 item
- 1/2 stick margarine or butter, softened - 1/2 c
- chocolate chips or small black gumdrops - 1 item
- Stir in flour, baking soda, baking powder and salt
How to make ghost cookies:
Mix sugars, peanut butter, margarine, shortening and egg in a large bowl. Stir in flour, baking soda, baking powder and salt. Cover and refrigerate about 3 hours or until chilled.Heat oven to 375°. Divide dough in half. Roll each half 1/8-inch thick on lightly floured surface. Cut into 3 x 2-inch ghost shapes. Place on ungreased cookie sheet.
Bake 6 to 8 minutes or until light brown. Cool 2 minutes; remove from cookie sheet. Cool completely on wire rack. Generously frost cookies with Creamy Frosting. Use chocolate chips or slices of black gumdrops for eyes. Makes about 4 1/2 dozen cookies.Creamy Frosting:6 c. powdered sugar2/3 c. margarine or butter, softened1/3 c. milk Mix powdered sugar and margarine in a large bowl. Stir in milk.
