Mexican cornbread
Ingredients/Components
- eggs - 2 item
- buttermilk - 1 c
- baking soda - 3/4 tsp
- yellow cornmeal - 1 c
- corn oil or melted butter - 1/2 c
- grated Colby or Velveeta cheese - 1 c
- dash crushed peppers or dash of hot sauce - 1 item
How to make mexican cornbread:
Mix dry ingredients. Mix wet ingredients. Add eggs last. Pour half batter in greased iron skillet. Pour grated cheese on top. Pour remaining batter on top of cheese. Bake at 400° for 30 to 35 minutes. Enjoy!Recipe categories: Breads, Quick breads, North american.
