  • salt - 1/2 tsp
  • oil - 1/3 c
  • soda - 1 tsp
  • buttermilk - 1 c
  • beaten eggs - 2 item
  • ground beef - 2 lb
  • grated Cheddar cheese - 8 oz
  • large chopped onion - 1 item
  • creamed corn - 1 c
  • corn meal - 1 c
  • hot peppers - 4 item

How to make mexican corn bread:

Brown beef, add onions, peppers and cheese. Sift meal, salt and soda. Combine sifted mixture with beaten eggs, milk, oil and corn. Pour 1/2 bread mixture in a deep greased skillet or Corning Ware dish. Add meat mixture, top with other 1/2 of bread mixture. Bake at 350° for 45 minutes.
