Ingredients/Components
- egg whites room temperature - 2 item
- salt - 1/8 tsp
- cream of tartar - 1/8 tsp
- sugar - 3/4 c
- vanilla - 1/2 tsp
- chocolate chips - 1 c
- crushed candy cane - 3 Tbsp
- chopped nuts - 1 c
How to make meringue cookies:
Heat oven to 250°. Beat egg whites at high speed in a small bowl until foamy. Add salt and cream of tartar. Continue beating until soft peaks form. Add sugar, one tablespoon at a time, beating well after each addition. When meringue is stiff and white, add the rest of the ingredients. Drop by teaspoonfuls about 1 1/2-inches apart onto lightly greased cookie sheet. Bake 40 minutes. Remove to wire rack to cool.Recipe categories: Desserts, Drop cookies, Cookie and brownie.
