Ingredients/Components
- milk - 1 c
- salt - 1 Tbsp
- flour - 2 Tbsp
- eggs, beaten - 2 item
- baking powder - 4 tsp
- Crisco - 1/2 c
- paprika - 1 Tbsp
- parsley flakes - 2 Tbsp
- ground beef - 2 lb
- black pepper - 1 Tbsp
- red pepper - 1 Tbsp
- medium onions, chopped - 3 item
- bell peppers, chopped - 2 item
- pork sausage - 1 lb
- finely chopped green onions and blades - 5 item
- Then add green onions and blades, onions, bell pepper and flour
How to make meat pies:
Mix well ground beef, pork sausage, red pepper, salt and paprika. Then add green onions and blades, onions, bell pepper and flour. Cook slowly. When almost done, add parsley flakes. Cook a little longer and stir. Cool and drain while preparing dough.Pie Dough for Meat Pies:4 c. flour4 tsp. baking powder1/2 c. Crisco2 eggs, beaten1 c. milk Work Crisco and dry ingredients together. Mix eggs and milk together. Then mix with flour mixture. Roll out and cut the size of saucer or small bowl. Put 1 1/2 or 2 tablespoons meat on one side. Fold over and crimp with a fork. Fry until golden. Makes approximately 2 dozen.Note: They can be frozen to cook later.
