- sugar - 3 c
- cinnamon - 2 tsp
- salt
- flour - 14 15
- soda - 3 tsp
- eggs, beaten - 6 item
- baking powder - 2 tsp
- Crisco - 1 c
- cloves - 2 tsp
- honey - 3 c
- allspice - 2 tsp
- black pepper - 1 tsp
- strong coffee
- anise - 4 tsp
How to make pfeffernuesse cookies:
Bring sugar, honey and Crisco to boil and cool. Mix in order given. Chill; shape into balls and bake at 350° for 8 to 10 minutes. When cookies are cooled, put into a container with a small amount of powdered sugar. Shake to coat well.
