Marinara sauce
Ingredients/Components
- salt - 1 tsp
- pepper - 1/4 tsp
- diced onion - 2/3 c
- clove garlic - 1 item
- oregano - 1 tsp
- can tomato paste - 1 oz
- olive oil - 6 Tbsp
- chopped parsley - 4 Tbsp
- can Italian tomatoes - 1 oz
- dry white wine optional - 1/2 c
How to make marinara sauce:
Put tomatoes with juice, tomato paste, parsley, garlic, oregano, salt and pepper in blender. Blend until smooth. Heat oil in 12-inch skillet over medium heat. Add onion and saute 2 minutes. Add tomato mixture and wine. Reduce heat and simmer 30 minutes, stirring occasionally. Yields 4 cups.Recipe categories: American, Condiments, etc., Vegetables.
