Ingredients/Components

  • salt - 1 tsp
  • pepper - 1/4 tsp
  • diced onion - 2/3 c
  • clove garlic - 1 item
  • oregano - 1 tsp
  • can tomato paste - 1 oz
  • olive oil - 6 Tbsp
  • chopped parsley - 4 Tbsp
  • can Italian tomatoes - 1 oz
  • dry white wine optional - 1/2 c

How to make marinara sauce:

Put tomatoes with juice, tomato paste, parsley, garlic, oregano, salt and pepper in blender. Blend until smooth. Heat oil in 12-inch skillet over medium heat. Add onion and saute 2 minutes. Add tomato mixture and wine. Reduce heat and simmer 30 minutes, stirring occasionally. Yields 4 cups.
