Maine baked beans
Ingredients/Components
- salt - 1 tsp
- molasses - 2 Tbsp
- dry mustard
- dash of pepper - 1 item
- piece salt pork - 1/2 lb
- dry beans 2 c - 1 lb
- medium onion, peeled left whole - 1 item
How to make maine baked beans:
Wash beans and soak overnight. Need large bowl as beans will swell. Next morning, place drained beans in crock-pot. Bury onion and score salt pork (make gashes in it). In beans, add salt, pepper, dry mustard and molasses. (Be careful not to add too much molasses, as will make beans hard.)
