  • pkg - 1 oz
  • milk - 2 c
  • salt - 1/2 tsp
  • flour - 3 Tbsp
  • butter - 3 Tbsp
  • pepper to taste - 1 item
  • grated sharp Cheddar cheese - 2 c

How to make macaroni and cheese:

Cook macaroni according to package directions; drain and place in a well buttered 1 1/2-quart casserole. Melt butter; stir in flour and blend well. Gradually add milk and cook over medium heat until thick. Add salt, pepper and 1 1/2 cups cheese, stirring to melt cheese. Gently mix sauce with macaroni; sprinkle with remaining cheese. Bake, uncovered, at 350° for 30 minutes. Serves 6.
