  • sugar - 1 c
  • vanilla - 1 item
  • salt - 1/4 tsp
  • butter - 2 Tbsp
  • cornstarch - 1/4 c
  • eggs, separated - 3 item
  • water
  • fresh squeezed lemon juice - 1/3 c

How to make lemon pie:

Mix cornstarch, 1/2 cup sugar, water and salt. Cook until thickened, stir constantly. Beat egg yolks and 1/2 cup sugar. Blend some of hot mixture into egg. Stir into hot starch mix. Boil a few minutes. Add lemon juice and butter. Stir a while longer. Set aside to cool.

Make meringue from egg whites, 2 tablespoons sugar and vanilla.
