Ingredients/Components
- sugar - 1 c
- vanilla - 1 item
- salt - 1/4 tsp
- butter - 2 Tbsp
- cornstarch - 1/4 c
- eggs, separated - 3 item
- water
- fresh squeezed lemon juice - 1/3 c
How to make lemon pie:
Mix cornstarch, 1/2 cup sugar, water and salt. Cook until thickened, stir constantly. Beat egg yolks and 1/2 cup sugar. Blend some of hot mixture into egg. Stir into hot starch mix. Boil a few minutes. Add lemon juice and butter. Stir a while longer. Set aside to cool.Make meringue from egg whites, 2 tablespoons sugar and vanilla.
