Ingredients/Components
- sugar - 1 c
- eggs - 2 item
- milk - 1/2 c
- salt - 1/8 tsp
- chopped nuts - 1/2 c
- flour
- baking powder - 1 tsp
- shortening - 6 Tbsp
- lemon - 1 item
How to make lemon nut bread:
Cream shortening and sugar together. Add eggs and beat thoroughly. Add alternately the flour, baking powder and salt (mix together in small bowl). Fold in grated rind of lemon and nuts. Bake for 1 hour at 325°.Mix juice of lemon and 1/2 cup sugar. Remove bread from pan and pour the juice over bread while still warm.
