- sugar - 1 c
- eggs - 2 item
- milk - 1/2 c
- salt - 1/2 tsp
- flour
- baking powder - 1 tsp
- margarine - 1/2 c
- lemon grate rind; save juice in a bowl - 1 item
- Glaze: lemon juice saved
How to make lemon loaf:
Glaze: lemon juice (saved)1/4 c. sugar Cream the margarine. Add sugar and eggs. Add lemon rind. Sift flour, baking powder and salt. Add dry ingredients to egg mixture alternately with milk. Bake for 45 minutes at 350° in a greased and floured loaf pan. Makes 1 loaf.Glaze: Mix lemon juice with 1/4 cup sugar. Pour mixture over warm bread after removing from baking pan.
