Layered orange salad
Ingredients/Components
- sugar - 1/2 c
- cold water - 2 c
- boiling water
- plain flour - 2 Tbsp
- egg yolk - 1 item
- pineapple juice - 1 c
- large can crushed pineapple - 1 item
- whipped whipping cream - 1/2 pt
- chopped pecans optional - 1 c
- bananas, cut up - 3 item
- small lemon and 1 small orange jello - 1 item
- grated Colby Longhorn cheese - 1 c
How to make layered orange salad:
Dissolve sugar and flour in little juice and gradually add rest of juice and egg yolk until thickens. Add 2 tablespoons butter; stir well and cool mixture in cold water (use metal bowl for mixture and place bowl in larger metal or glass bowl with ice cubes and water to cool quickly). To this cooled mixture, add the 1/2 pint whipped whipping cream. Then spread this mixture over congealed jello mixture made with lemon jello, orange jello, bananas, crushed pineapple and nuts.
