Ingredients/Components
- salt - 1 tsp
- flour
- soda - 2 tsp
- shortening - 1 c
- chopped walnuts - 1 c
- eggs, slightly beaten - 4 item
- mashed bananas about 6 medium - 2 c
How to make kona inn banana bread:
Preheat oven to 350°. Grease and flour two 8 x 4-inch loaf pans. Stir and toss together the flour, salt and soda. Set aside. In a large bowl, mix the shortening, sugar, mashed bananas, eggs and walnuts. Add the flour mixture and stir just until blended. Pour into the prepared pans. Bake for 65 to 70 minutes or until toothpick inserted into the center of bread comes out clean. Remove and allow to cool in the pans for about 5 minutes. Turn onto wire racks to cool completely. Makes 2 loaves.Variation: Whole wheat flour may be substituted for the regular flour.
