- sugar - 2 c
- cinnamon - 1 tsp
- eggs - 3 item
- vanilla - 1 tsp
- salt - 1 tsp
- flour - 3 c
- butter - 1 c
- nutmeg - 1 tsp
- buttermilk - 1 c
- cloves - 1 tsp
- jam - 1 c
- allspice - 1 tsp
- soda, dissolved in milk - 1 tsp
How to make jam cake:
Cream butter and sugar thoroughly. Add egg yolks and beat until smooth. Add 1 cup jam to this mixture; alternately sift in dry ingredients with buttermilk. Beat egg whites and fold into batter. Bake in two large cake pans or a tube pan in a 350° oven about 1 hour. Blackberry or strawberry jam is used by this cook.Recipe categories: Desserts, Cakes, Grains.
