Italian stuffed shells
Ingredients/Components
- egg, beaten - 1 item
- 8 oz - 2 c
- grated Parmesan cheese - 1/2 c
- chopped onion - 1 c
- ground beef - 1 lb
- spaghetti sauce - 1 qt
- carton cottage cheese - 1 oz
- jumbo shell noodles, cooked and drained - 24 item
How to make italian stuffed shells:
In a large skillet, brown beef and onion. Drain well. Stir in spaghetti sauce. Simmer, uncovered, about 30 minutes.Meanwhile, in a medium bowl, combine cottage cheese, 1 cup Mozzarella, Parmesan cheese and egg. Mix well. Stuff shells with cheese mixture. Arrange in a 13 x 9 x 2-inch baking dish. Pour meat sauce over shells. Cover and bake at 350° for 30 minutes. Uncover and sprinkle with remaining Mozzarella cheese. Bake 5 minutes longer or until the cheese is melted. Yields 6 to 8 servings.
